This is the second project which was partly funded by the “Stop Sex Trafficking of Children and Young People” campaign. It started in March 2011.

The project started as an awareness-raising campaign launched in the educational community of Santafe, Candelaria and San Cristobal (Columbia) in order to prevent sexual abuse of children. The prevention activities were carried out in 10 secondary schools.

Result:  2100 students (7-17 years) were reached, 380 computer and social science teachers and 20 fathers.

In 2012, the project focused on lobbying the local governments to include the eradication of the commercial sexual exploitation of children and prevention of sexual abuse in their agendas.

Result:  3 departments and 35 municipalities have been visited by the team Golondrina project.
